12/07/2013 @ St Martin-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square, LondonShe regularly attends festivals in Holland, Hungary, Italy and she has performed in masterclasses given by Ivry Gitlis, Ilya Gringolts, Priya Mitchell, Daniel Rowland and Kelemen Barnabas as well as chamber music masterclasses by the Brodsky and Szymanowski Quartet, Andrew Manze, Peter Manning. Last July she was also invited to the prestigious Mendelssohn on Mull Festival.
As well as winning various string prizes and competitions (such as the Hilda Bailey Prize and the Ian D Watt Award) Eva has also won chamber music competitions with the Csengele Quartet, of which she is a founding member. The quartet was invited, with pianist Pearl-Lynne Chen, to attend Aldeburgh Festival last summer to play Schumann Quintet in masterclasses with Menahem Pressler. Over the years she held several scholarships and awards such as the Silvestri Scholarship and most recently the ABRSM Macklin Bursary.
Greek pianist Theodoros Iosifidis graduated from ‘Neon Conservatoire of Thessaloniki’ with the highest distinction (Piano Diploma with Grade A and 1st Prize) and he continued his studies in Trinity College of Music, London, where he got his Bachelor in Music with First Class Honours. He finished his Masters Degree in Solo Performance with distinction at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Glasgow, (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), where he worked as a piano accompanist while undertaking a Masters in Accompaniment and Chamber music, completed in 2012. He has studied under Yonty Solomon, Philip Fowke and, most recently, Jonathan Plowright.
Theodoros has been involved in numerous performance projects such as the ‘Schumann Festival 2006’, and he has appeared in prestigious festivals, including the ‘Fringe’ in Edinburgh International Festival. He was one of the 24 pianists who realized the world premiere of the 8-hour long ‘The Road’ by Rzewski. He frequently collaborates with composers (Dimitrios Skyllas, Nick Jones, Simone Spagnolo, Hannah Varty, among others), and he has given numerous first performances.
Concert appearances include the ‘Rude Health’ series in London and the ‘PLUG’ Festival in Glasgow, as well as solo and chamber music recitals in London, Edinburgh, Inverness, Glasgow, Wales, Germany and Greece. He has represented the RSAMD in the Intercollegiate Beethoven Competition in London’s Bluthner Centre. His most recent distinctions include the RSAMD ‘Bach Prize’, First Prize in the Ian D. Watt Competition and First Prize in Peter Lindsay Miller Competition.
Eva Demeter and Theodoros Iosifidis collaboration started in late 2011 whilst they were still studying together at the Conservatoire in Glasgow. They have since performed in competitions and recitals together. They enjoy making music together as they feel they both like the challenge of learning something new from a piece as well as from each other.
